By God’s grace, we have been brought to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. United to Him by His Spirit and affirmed as members of His church, we now, in the presence of God and this assembly, solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, committing ourselves to live as faithful disciples of Christ. We will walk together in Christian love, bearing with one another in humility and striving for unity, peace, and forgiveness, as we have been forgiven in Christ. Seeking to build one another up in faith, we will encourage one another toward love and good deeds, always fostering the bond of peace within the body of Christ.
We will faithfully gather for worship, prayer, and fellowship, understanding that the Christian life is to be lived in the community of believers. We will seek to live with integrity, honoring Christ in our speech, actions, and relationships. Rejecting gossip, slander, division, and abstain from all forms of drunkenness and impurity. We will instead be people of peace, grace, truth, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. In all our dealings, we will strive to be just, honest, and faithful, reflecting the character of Christ in every aspect of our lives.
We will uphold one another in prayer, lifting up the needs of our brothers and sisters and seeking God’s wisdom and guidance. Encouraging the weary, strengthening the weak, and admonishing one another in love, we will humbly receive correction and hold one another accountable in the faith. As ambassadors of Christ, we will proclaim the gospel boldly, taking every opportunity to share the good news of salvation with those around us, trusting the Holy Spirit to work through us. We will disciple and instruct one another, growing together in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.
We will nurture our children in the truth of God’s Word, teaching them to love and obey Him in all things. In times of joy, we will rejoice together; in times of sorrow, we will mourn together, bearing one another’s burdens in love. We will be faithful stewards of all that God has entrusted to us, giving generously for the work of the church, the relief of the needy, and the advancement of the gospel. Recognizing that all we have belongs to the Lord, we will use our resources wisely for His glory.
We agree that when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible, unite with another gospel-preaching congregation where we can continue to grow in faith and fulfill our calling as disciples of Christ. No matter the trials we may face, we will stand firm in our faith, persevering in the hope of the gospel, and living for the glory of the One who has redeemed us and called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
